Manual Transmissions Make a Big Comeback for Honda

While automatic transmissions certainly offer drivers a certain level of convenience, there are an overwhelming number of benefits that keep some purists sticking to vehicles with a manual gearbox. We here at Germain Honda of Dublin think that either option is perfectly viable, but we also know that more of you out there are electing to give manual a shot these days.

Why is that? People want to save money in these tough economic times, and the simple truth is that a well-driven manual will get better gas mileage than a similarly-driven automatic. Furthermore, vehicles with manual transmissions tend to cost less at the time of purchase, sometimes even thousands less.

Then there's the fun factor. Driving a standard often feels satisfying, letting drivers get a better feel for what's going on under the hood. It also forces you to pay closer attention to what's happening on the road, so there's also the safety factor.

One of the biggest models that fueling the standard transmission resurgence is the Honda CR-Z. The sporty coupe packs a six-speed manual, and it's simply a blast to drive, just like any of the other new Honda models that you'll find here at 6715 Sawmill Road Dublin, OH 43017.

In the end, though, we know that how people drive their vehicles is completely up to them. There's no arguing that vehicles with an automatic transmission are easier to drive and simply more convenient. What do you think? Are you a diehard manual fan? Or do you prefer to keep it clean and simple? Or are you somewhere in between? We'd love to know what you think, so leave us a comment below!
