Enthusiasts who make a point to tune into all that's going on in the performance realm are most likely familiar with Mugen and their double-R nameplate. For those who don't, the "RR" designation slapped onto a new Honda model can mean one thing and one thing only...more speed.
Bearing this in mind, you can see why speed-hungry Honda drivers were thrilled to hear of the amped-up Honda CR-Z Mugen RR that made a debut at last year's Goodwood Festival of Speed. Unfortunately, fans were then a bit bummed to see that the model was merely a concept, not headed for production anytime soon.
The good news? Recent findings hint that a second CR-Z Mugen RR just might make it our way after all. According to industry experts, a green-clad sport hybrid RR has made an official appearance under the title, "pre-production model."
When it arrives, the bright and energetic CR-Z variant will look almost exactly like the original Mugen concept. This means the auto will wear an aggressive body kit including a dry carbon front splitter, side splitters, rear diffuser and under panel. As for power, Mugen has equipped the CR-Z model with a supercharger that moves up output to an impressive 190 horsepower and 209 pounds-feet.
As the Honda CR-Z Mugen RR continues to make its way towards production, Germain Honda of Dublin invites you to stay tuned. Also, don't hesitate to stop by 6715 Sawmill Road Dublin, OH 43017 and bring any questions, comments, or concerns to our knowledgeable Honda team members.
