2025 Honda Prologue vs. Gas Vehicles

Advantage #1 – Significant Fuel Savings

While it might seem obvious, saving both time and money at the gas pump is clearly a major advantage of driving an all-electric SUV like the Honda Prologue. Although electricity rates can vary by geographic location, demand, and seasonality factors like fuel – it remains significantly less expensive as a power source. Fuel cost remains one of the most important factors in vehicle ownership and going all-electric is an affordable and convenient solution that can lead to higher satisfaction. Combined with the peace of mind that comes from knowing you’re doing your part to help our environment and reducing our dependency on fossil fuels, the Prologue becomes an even more attractive option than you may have realized.

Still not quite sure if the fuel savings will make an impact based on your driving habits? Don’t just take our word for it! This useful tool provided by the U.S. Department of Energy lets you compare fuel prices and emissions with a conventional vehicle. All you need to do is enter the MPG/MPGe ratings for your vehicle of choice and watch the savings add up right before your eyes!

Advantage #2 – Lower Maintenance Costs

Nobody enjoys having to shell out hundreds or even thousands of dollars just to get the service or maintenance that their vehicle requires. Fortunately, that’s yet another reason to choose the Prologue over a conventional gas-powered SUV! While the advanced all-electric powertrain of the Prologue is certainly known for its efficiency, you might be surprised to learn that it’s actually more affordable to maintain than an internal combustion engine. Since it has significantly fewer moving parts and components, it’s much less maintenance-intensive than a gas engine. You can also say goodbye to paying for things like oil changes, spark plug replacements, or timing chains as well! Of course, the Honda Prologue will still need minor maintenance services like tire rotations, filter replacements, and software updates to keep it running at its best. Less frequent and more affordable maintenance service costs are just another advantage that the Honda Prologue boasts in comparison to a conventional SUV.

Advantage #3 – Home Charging Convenience

Now that we’ve covered the costs associated with filling a conventional SUV with gasoline or diesel at the pump, it’s time to consider the inconvenience that comes from having to take time out of your busy schedule just to stop at the gas station. You’re already running late, it’s raining outside, and there’s a line at the pumps. Wouldn’t it be nice if you could simply wake up in the morning, grab a cup of coffee, and hit the highway for work? With the Honda Prologue, this dream can become your new reality.

When you install a dedicated home charging station in your garage or driveway, you can wake up each morning to a fully-charged battery thanks to the advanced charging solutions made possible by the Prologue. If your office has a charging station on the premises or nearby, you can top off the battery during the workday. Even on a cross-country road trip, it takes as little as 10 minutes using its DC fast charging capabilities to add an additional 65 miles of range**. Convenience and flexibility? Sounds like a win-win to us!

Advantage #4 – Refinement

When you turn the key in the ignition of a conventional SUV powered by an internal combustion engine, you’re probably familiar with the vibration, rumble, and excess noise that comes from a running engine. In contrast, the instant that you start the all-electric Honda Prologue results in a nearly silent process as the vehicle comes to life. Step on the accelerator and feel the seamless rush of power as you get up to speed.

Whether you’re a spirited driver looking to add a dose of adrenaline to your daily drive or you want to experience the upscale driving manners of a luxury vehicle, the Honda Prologue delivers unrivaled refinement made possible by its EV powertrain. Quiet, smooth, and sophisticated are just three ways to describe the in-vehicle experience of the dynamic Honda Prologue.
