Know how much the vehicle is worth by using Kelley Blue Book or a similar service. You’ll feel more confident about how much you feel you should pay. Also, feel confident enough to walk away if the sales associate isn’t willing to bargain with you on a vehicle that you think is priced too high. Also, start with a lower offer than you’re willing to pay, then you can sweeten the deal by going a little bit higher.
